Trim Levels (Exterior)
For 2023, Ford offers six trims for the Expedition: XL STX, XLT, Timberline, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. For even more space, you can get the XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum in the Max version, which is longer and offers more room than the standard Expedition. Starting with the XL STX and XLT, you get LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, and fog lights. The Timberline adds a dual exhaust and Timberline-exclusive exterior trim developed to take you off the beaten path. A panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels, and a hands-free power liftgate are standard on the Limited.
A stone gray exterior trim with King Ranch emblems and badges, 22-inch wheels, and power-deployable running boards await you on the King Ranch. The Platinum trim adds roof rails with crossbars to the standard inclusions.
Engine (Power)
One engine is found under the hood of each trim level of the 2023 Ford Expedition. That engine is a turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 producing 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque for most trims. The same engine gets upgraded for a slight boost for the Timberline and Stealth package to garner 440 horsepower. You get a 10-speed automatic transmission for a smooth ride in your Expedition.
Performance
Rear-wheel drive is the standard, but you can go with the optional four-wheel-drive system for better performance over various conditions and surfaces. Your Expedition can haul 9,300 pounds, letting you bring just about anything along on your weekend adventures. The Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package includes trailer backup assist, 3.73 rear-axle gearing, a trailer brake controller, and an upgraded radiator to make towing easier on your Expedition.
Interior
The interior of the 2023 Ford Expedition is all about the passengers. Starting at the XL STX, you will find seating for five and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and keyless entry with a push-button start. The standard features are a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 12-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker stereo. You can go with a bench seat or captain's chairs in the second row starting at the XLT. The upper trims offer an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 12-speaker premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, heated and ventilated seats, satellite radio, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and leather upholstery.
