Trim Levels (Engine)
For 2023, Ford offers eight trims for the F-150: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited. The XL starts with power and heated side mirrors, keyless entry, and a locking tailgate with a lift assist. The XLT rolls down the road on 17-inch alloy wheels and includes chrome bumpers, while the Lariat sits atop 18-inch chrome wheels and adds power-folding heated side mirrors and driver's side LED spotlights. The Limited upgrades everything with a twin-panel moonroof and 22-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
There are many engines, and availability depends on the trim you select. The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 with 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. A 3.3-liter puts out 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The third engine is the popular 5.0-liter TI-VCT V-8 engine producing 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
Engine number four is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Powerboost V-6 engine cranking out 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. A full-hybrid version of this twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter engine is also available, churning out a combined 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. The final engine is the third 3.5-liter engine offered for 2023, a high-output twin-turbo HO EcoBoost exclusive to the Raptor that makes 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Ford has added many performance features to the 2023 F-150 to help you get the job done. Maximum payload and towing capacity rank among the essential attributes of a pickup truck. Depending on the configuration, you will find the maximum towing capacities ranging from 8,200 pounds to 14,000 pounds. The maximum payload capacities start at 1,840 to 3,250 pounds, depending on your engine and trim.
Rear-wheel drive is standard on most trims, but to truly maximize your pickup's capabilities, go with the available four-wheel drive. The F-150 features selectable drive modes of Normal, Tow/Haul, Eco, Trail, and Slippery, allowing you to customize the ride configuration to the current conditions or your preference.
