Memorial Day Festivities Celebrate Memorial Day with the VFW Post & Auxiliary on May 29th from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm. The festivities are located at 1800 Ford Chapel Road. Food will be served at noon and the meals will cost $10 per plate. While you eat, you can enjoy live music from Steppin' Out Band. They will play at 1:00 pm and there will be a $10 cover charge to join the dancing. 3. Annual Vet Fest This spring marks the 10th anniversary of the annual Vet Fest here in Lufkin. This festival was previously known as Veteran Family Fun and Resource Day. This is a family-friendly event and is free to attend, but donations for local veterans are always welcome. The festival is happening on May 20th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. It's located at VFW Post at 1800 Ford Chapel Road. Cross Timbers Cowboy Church Jackpot Team Roping Event Come watch the team roping event for #8 and #10 on Saturday, May 27th.
