They will play at 1:00 pm and there will be a $10 cover charge to join the dancing. 3. Annual Vet Fest This spring marks the 10th anniversary of the annual Vet Fest here in Lufkin. This festival was previously known as Veteran Family Fun and Resource Day. This is a family-friendly event and is free to attend, but donations for local veterans are always welcome. The festival is happening on May 20th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. It's located at VFW Post at 1800 Ford Chapel Road. There will be food to enjoy, information for veterans, and a great time for the community to hang out. 4. Cross Timbers Cowboy Church Jackpot Team Roping Event Come watch the team roping event for #8 and #10 on Saturday, May 27th. There will be a practice event for the riders on the night before at 7:00 pm. On the day of the event, the books will open at 6:00 pm and roping begins at 7:00 pm. This event is located at Cross Timbers Cowboy Church at 4977 US Highway 69 N. 5. Sunshine Golf Tournament End the spring with the 40th annual Sunshine Golf Tournament. It's happening on Saturday, June 10th, with two tee times of 7:30 am and 1:30 pm. The tournament is located at 900 Crown Colony Drive. There will be plenty of prizes given out to participating golfers. This spring is ending with a lot of great community activities here in Lufkin.
